Complete sleep care, from A to ZZZZ.

Our board-certified sleep physician and our registered sleep technologists can help you overcome the sleep challenge you face. We offer complete care for the following sleep disorders:

Sleep apnea —A condition whereby one stops breathing during sleep. Sleep apnea is typically caused by an obstruction or blockage in the upper airway, either in the nasal passages (enlarged turbinates or deviated septum) or oral airway (enlarged tonsils, adenoids, tongue or uvula). Symptoms you should look for include snoring, choking, gasping or pauses in breathing during sleep. Sleep apnea can cause high blood pressure and people with sleep apnea have a higher incidence of heart attack and stroke.

Insomnia — If you have trouble falling asleep, find it nearly impossible to remain asleep during the night, wake up too early in the morning or still feel tired after a full night’s sleep, you probably suffer from insomnia. We can accurately determine if your insomnia is also associated with other treatable medical conditions, such as chronic pain or depression, and treat it accordingly.

Narcolepsy —If you suffer from narcolepsy, you’ll find yourself so tired during the day that you’ll have difficulty staying awake. Oddly enough, this can occur even after you’ve had a full night’s sleep. Other symptoms include cataplexy, which is a sudden loss of muscle function, sleep paralysis and frightening hallucinations.

Restless legs syndrome (RLS)/Periodic limb movement disorder (PLMD) —RLS involves repetitive movement of the legs or arms to relieve an uncomfortable sensation described as a “creepy-crawly” feeling. Besides being a nuisance, RLS can cause insomnia. In PLMD, similar limb movements occur every 20 to 40 seconds during sleep, resulting in poor sleep quality.

Other disorders —We can also treat many other sleep disorders, including snoring, hypersomnia, sleepwalking, night-terrors, REM behavior disorder, rhythmic movement disorder, delayed sleep phase syndrome and advanced sleep phase syndrome.

At The SleepWell Center, you’ll find the most advanced, state-of-the-art equipment and techniques to diagnose and treat your sleep disorder, including polysomnography, positive airway pressure therapy (CPAP/BiPAP), phototherapy and behavioral therapy, to name just a few. We also go the extra mile in helping you with your sleep disorder, offering adjunctive complementary therapies such as medical acupuncture, massage and nutrition.
